Welcome to High School Co-ops, Ontario's number one website for locating high school cooperative education placements within your area. This website is designed for parents, students, and high school co-op teachers to aid them in finding current organizations that participate in cooperative education programs across Ontario. What is Cooperative Education?
Cooperative education is a program that allows students to earn secondary school credits while completing a work placement in the community. It allows students to participate in valuable learning experiences that help prepare them for the next stage of their lives; whether in apprenticeship training, college, community living, university, or the workplace. High school students who are in grades 11 and 12 have the opportunity to earn 1, 2, of 4 high school credits that count towards their diploma.

What are the benefits of Cooperative Education?
A cooperative education program allows students to “try out” a career of interest before finalizing plans for postsecondary education, training, or employment while developing the essential skills and work habits that are required in the workplace. It also allows students to acquire a direct understanding of employer and workplace expectations and gain valuable work experience to help build their résumé for postsecondary programs and future employment. Not only do students gain valuable work experience, but more importantly those essential work transferable skills that students gain can be use after their co-op experience has ended in any industry and or position.
Why High School Co-ops?- We give students a choice
All of us at High School Co-ops believe in the importance cooperative education for students in preparing for their future careers. However we strongly agree that all students should enjoy the co-op placement that they will spend the majority of their semester at. In order for that to happen we believe students need to be able to choose everything about their cooperative education placement: the position they want, in the industry they want, in the location they want. High School Co-ops makes it easy for parents, students and teachers across Ontario to find this information quick and easy.
